Once the stabilisers are off for good, the Huffy Extent 20 is a natural next step. This one is finished in a bright Antifreeze Green that is hard to miss. It is sized for children aged 6 to 9, around 117 to 136 cm tall.
The steel hardtail frame and front suspension fork are made to cope with years of play, from park trails to the local green. Six gears are selected with an easy twist shifter and a Shimano indexed rear derailleur, and a guard protects the derailleur so shifting stays reliable after the odd tumble.
A front disc brake paired with a rear linear-pull brake gives steady stopping in wet or dry weather. The padded saddle is designed for younger riders and adjusts quickly with an alloy quick-release clamp.
Every Huffy bike leaves the box at least 85% built. The last few assembly steps need only basic tools, and the manual and instructions are included. Gears, brakes and tyres may need a little adjustment before the first ride and as part of normal upkeep. If you would rather not do it yourself, a local bike mechanic can finish the job.
